the holy mountain of girnar holds all in awe. one of the three most sacred mountains in india, after mount kailash & arunachalam, it is sacred to hindus, muslims, jains, buddhists, naths
 and a host of other sects.

legend has it that the face is of shri girnari baba, an ancient, immortal aghori who is an incarnation of lord shiva. the massif is hollow completely and is known to be an ancient hermitage of 'siddhas' or immortal beings who hold influence on the planets, this one and others!!

the aghoris of india have held allegiance to this place since immortality and it is believed that guru gorakhnath, the ancient founder seer of the nath sect still lives here.

i myself have visited the mountain twice and always felt a something strange, vital and mystifying about it..incidentally it could be one of the oldest mountains in the world, far ancient than the himalyas..
